DESCRIPTION:

I make costuming as a form of ceremony, as a way to process grief, and as a means of investigating ancestry and transformation. Creating work using found and recycled materials has always been the foundation of my art practice. Things that are handmade, that are found and have seen life already have a spirit in them that I have always been attracted to.

MATERIALS USED:

Vintage lace, black velvet, abalone shell, sterling silver, silk flowers, velvet ribbon, thread, opalite glass, phonograph heishi, vintage hat pin, faux pearls, copper chain, Chinese enamel Cloisonne rings, white coral, synthetic sinue, articulated brass snake band, black enameled bamboo rings

WEARING INSTRUCTIONS:

Please pick up from the bottom sides/ edge of the main hat form and then place on the head. Be careful to not squish , pick up by or rearrange the gold articulated snake- it is mailable and can be styled but should remain fluid looking. Can reference pictures I sent.
